To be told you have a disc herniation, bulge or loss of disc height can be alarming but it's important to retain perspective. By age 50, well over half of us will have these disc "abnormalities", many of us without pain or issue.
In fact, these things are so common, current thinking is moving towards these being part of the natural life cycle of our spines, as opposed to being abnormal.
Continuing to move and maintaining a positive mindset are powerful tools when combatting pain. Try not to focus on the "diagnosis" and allowing it to dictate your life; instead, focus on what you CAN do, keep moving (even if it's tiny) and celebrate the wins!
